How the Sky Will Change
An Interactive Planetarium Workshop & Show
On a human timescale, we think the stars in the sky are unchanging.
In this 1-hour interactive live planetarium show, we're going to learn how differently the sky appeared far in the past and how it will appear far in the future.
The Dome
The show takes place inside of a 6-meter inflatable dome. As you enter, you'll be immersed in a 360° view of the sky. Later, we will lift off from Earth and travel through the Solar System.
Seating is limited to 10 people. This lets you get acquainted with your travel crew and you can get your questions answered.
What You Will Learn
- what constellations actually are
- why we only see some constellations at certain times of the year
- the constellations of different cultures
- the true shape of the constellations
- how the stars appeared far in the past and will appear far in the future
Got a question? Bring it and I'll try to answer it visually in the dome!

But this show is different: all the software is controlled live as I walk you through the show. There is a script and major concepts I need to teach, but it is open to your suggestions.
Think of it like a road trip: I'm driving the family van, and if we see an interesting roadside attraction, maybe we'll make stop? I'll judge if it's the right moment to teach that, but we might stop by there on the way back "home".
All the software used is open source and free to use. So when you get home, you can load it up yourself and re-experience some of the show.
