Take your team up to the best sunset spot in Montréal.

Along the way, we'll learn about the rotation of Earth, why our days get longer and shorter, how to use astronomy apps, and a whole lot more (including your own questions).

Your team will be put into groups and challenged to work together to answer point-based questions about the things we learn. At the end, the team with the most points wins.

Moon, Planets, Stars, and Navigation

Show your team close-up views of the Moon and the planets with a telescope while they learn how to navigate the sky.

In this tour, we're going to learn why the Moon changes shape through the month, how we can see planets with the naked eye, and how to use awesome smartphone astronomy apps to find objects in the sky.

Your team will be split into groups. Along the way, they'll work together to answer point-based questions about Moon phases, planets, and direction. At the end, the team with the most points wins.

Spot the Space Station

Show your team how to perform best magic trick in the world: predict the exact moment a bright "star" will appear and disappear.

In this tour, we're going to learn how to use the app ISS Detector to find where and when the International Space Station will appear as a bright dot overhead. Through the evening, they'll learn history of the station, who's aboard it, how fast it's moving, and get a real sense of how large it is.

At the end, I'll demonstrate how to take a photo of it with a smartphone.

Your team will be split into groups. Along the way, they'll work together to answer point-based questions about the Space Station and how to see it next. At the end, the team with the most points wins.

About the Host

Your host for every tour is Trevor Kjorlien, founder of Plateau Astro.

Trevor has been doing space outreach in Montréal since 2013. In 2019, he became the host of the English version of National Geographic Observétoiles in Sutton, Quebec.

He has been interviewed and featured many times on TV, radio, and newspaper.

Trevor is also a storyteller and stage performer, promising to make your tour fun and entertaining.

Trevor is 100% fluent in English and ~70% fluent in French.
